Are you "Sarah" in the stories?
That character as well as the other
5 girls are based on me and some friends of mine. NBY and IIDHY are
written in the 1st person narrative, but that does not mean the narrator
is the author! =)... DWLYN is written in third person to avoid confusion
in the writing because Sarah becomes more of a main character [it's hard
to keep up an omnipotent character when they're the focus of what's going
on!].
Do you know the Boys? You seem
to know them well. Can you--
Err...no. I can't say I've even met
the Boys face to face. I'm just going on the personalities I see from them
on TV and in concert. Possibly a bit of other fanfiction has influenced how
I portray them, but I do not really know them. In NBY, they probably act
more unrealistically than they do in IIDHY-- I'm trying to make believable
characters, but I'm always growing as a writer. I'd prolly be embarrassed
if they ever read the stories. I doubt I've captured their real personalities.
I mean, everyone in NBY, iun my opinion, sound like 14-year-olds now when
I look back on it...Just remember, this is fiction.
Can I be an editor?
It's really sweet to try and help
me, but I'll have to say no. I have my editors, my friends, who I can talk
to on the phone. And since the female characters are based on them, it's
greatot have their input. I've learnt, through hosting stories, that it can
get insane trying to explain corrections of grammar or confusion through only
email. Since they are, in a way, part of the stories, these friends of mine
have a say in what goes on. Also, I can be absent minded, and they catch
my screw-ups, and make sure to tell me when things don't make sense. They
know me as a friend first, not a webmistress or writer, and can keep me grounded.
