We walked towards Adventure Land.
Hannah didn't say anything; one of Lance's arms remained around her waist.
Brian seemed to be avoiding walking near Julie. Nick was trying to play with
her hair. Howie was pointing out different things as we walked, Jenny was
the only one who took interest in what he was saying. AJ began to constantly
punt a single rock, kicking it along as we walked. Kevin seemed to be contemplating
something, perhaps Brian's odd actions. I just led the way in silence.
We found a depressing sign in front of Big Thunder...and then saw a duplicate
for the Pirates of the Caribbean: RIDE CLOSED FOR TODAY. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.
"Noooo!!!!!!" Lance wailed.
"Oh shut up, you big baby," Hannah
swatted him.
"Big baby, am I? Well babies need
a lot of attention..!" Lance grinned.
"You guys, it's okay," Nick broke
in, "We can do something else."
"Like what!? We've done all the good
rides and it's already 6pm." Howie sighed.
"Time flies!" Brian started.
"...When you're having fun." Julie
finished the saying for him with a smile.
"But now what should we do...?" Kevin
asked.
There was silence for a moment.
"FOOD!" Brian and Nick screamed out
at the same time, looked at each other, and grinned at their timing.
"I think you guys share ONE brain..."
Julie laughed. They nodded simultaneously.
"What should we eat? We can have clam
chowder again, it's right around the corner," I laughed.
"OH YEAH...I really want clam chowder
in my hair and shorts again...nuh-huh," AJ laughed. "Plus my hair and my sunglasses
need not be adorned with more chowder...!"
"Naw, " Nick said trying to decide
what to do. "...Room service is muuuuuch better," he grinned.
"And what are you implying?" Julie
questioned him.
"ME? Implying something? Oh no!...Well,
what do you think I'm implying, oh smart one?"
Julie put her hands on her hips when
he said the all-too-familiar nickname. "Well," she started, "It just seemed
like you were implying we would be going to your hotel rooms."
"Oh really?" Nick replied, "Well I
thought that was already assumed!"
"Is that so?"
"Yup."
"What do you guys think." Julie turned
to Hannah, Jenny, and me, "Do we go with these StRaNgErS?" She was trying
to keep the smile off her face.
"Oh, I dunno, I don't think we should
go, them being StRaNgErS and all..." Jenny caught on.
"C'mon, puh-leese?!" Nick begged.
"Oh fine, just stop begging," Jenny
hit him in the arm.
"We'd better call our parents." I
suggested.
"Why?" Kevin raised an eyebrow.
"Mine don't care that I'm an adult.
My mom's overprotective of her only child... She doesn't care that I'm living
with you guys in a house far away from her. She still wants to know where
I am, you know, for trips etc..." I sighed.
"Good point. My parents will kill
me if I'm not home if they call tomorrow or something," Julie nodded.
"Yeah, but, um, what do we say?...'Uh,
hi mom, we just met the Backstreet Boys, and Lance from *N Sync, and we're
gonna stay with them in their hotel, bye'...um NO," Hannah said rolling her
eyes.
"We can just say we're a bit tired
and the park is open late...we'll just find a hotel and we'll be back at the
house, safe and sound, home tomorrow..." Jenny suggested.
"Oooo, lying...I like your style!'
AJ laughed. Jenny punched him, "OW! I'm being the rag doll to beat up on today,
aren't I!?" He exclaimed. Jenny nodded and grinned.
"White lie," Julie corrected him.
"K then, we'd better find a pay phone
for you girls and get this all straightened out so we can get to the hotel
soon...cuz I'm starving!" Brian clutched his stomach to indicate how hungry
he was.
"Uh-huh, the bottomless pits..." Hannah
rolled her eyes at Brian and Nick.
"It's called cell phones," I laughed,
rolling my eyes at the impatient two while we fished for our phones in our
bags.
(a few min later)
"So where are you guys staying?" I
asked.
"At the Disneyland Hotel of course...where
else?" Kevin stated.
"Why thank you for making me feel
smart!" I retorted.
"My point in life, " he smiled.
"How we gonna get there?" Jenny questioned.
"Monorail, my dear." AJ informed her.
"OW. Now what was THAT for!?"
"I'm not your dear, my dear," she
stated.
"K, let's go to the Monorail Station..."
Howie said, looking at me.
"GET A MAP!" I screamed.
"But why? We have you." Kevin smiled.
"Uh-huh," I rolled my eyes and led
the way.
There was barely a line for the Monorail
so we went right on in. Nick plopped down in an empty seat on the opposite
side of the cabin from the entrance. The seats at that end formed a bit of
a square, he sat by one corner.
"Finally...REST!" He sighed indicating
his feet hurt.
"Big baby," Julie muttered and sat
beside him.
"Is that my new nickname?"
"Yep," she grinned.
"Well my feet hurt TOO!" AJ grumbled
sitting down next to Jenny after she had found a spot. "OW."
"Don't complain," Jenny told him.
"I need sleep," Howie complained sitting
on the other side of her.
"Well I have a headache," stated Lance
who sat down beside Hannah.
"I'm hungry," Brian mumbled and sat
on the other side of Hannah.
"Me too, actually," Kevin said sitting
down by him.
I stood for a moment deciding where
to sit. There was Nick and Julie on one bench, then AJ, Jenny, and Howie on
the next. On the 3rd row sat Lance, Hannah, then Brian. And finally on the
4th bench sat Kevin. I put my hands on my hips and stated, "Is it just me,
or has ever single guy here complained!?" They all formed sheepish grins.
Having stated the fact for them to ponder, I sat in the open space by Kevin.
"Well, umm, so what? Maybe guys complain
more than girls," Nick tried to think of an excuse.
"Apparently so," Julie giggled.
"You're not helping, Nick," AJ laughed.
Soon there was more silence as the
Monorail finally began to move.
"Sooooo...where you guys from?" Nick
asked trying to make conversation.
"Umm...I thought we already went over
that, at lunch?" Jenny said.
"Oh, not like were you live. I mean
like where are you FROM from.." he tried to explain. We gave him questioning
looks.
"Your heritage, where is your family
from," Howie translated.
"Good wording Nick," AJ laughed.
"Oh shut up....Anyway, girls?"
"China," Jenny stated.
"Hong Kong...but you could say China."
Hannah said, scratching her head, "Even though I've never been to China...!"
"Taiwan...but you could say China."
Julie answered.
Kevin looked at me, "OH wait, lemme
guess...China?" he grinned.
"NO!" I smiled and hit him on the
head, "Do I really look like I'm from China!?"
"Well, you COULD be, I mean, part
of your family could be and then there are interracial marriages, and down
the line it won't exactly look like it, but...oh never mind," Howie tried
to joke.
"Uh-huh, sure. Well, where do you
SMART guys think I'm FROM from?" I smiled using Nick's words for heritage.
I saw Hannah whisper to Lance, "No, Hannah, don't tell him. Well fine, now
he can't guess cuz he knows." Lance pouted. "Nope, no guessing from you."
I turned to the others. They had blank looks on their faces. "Aw, c'mon,
you must have SOME idea..."
"Well maybe we do, but don't wanna
hurt your feeling with our assumptions," Howie defended their quietness.
"You guys are impossible sissies!"
Jenny sighed.
"So?" Nick laughed. Julie hit him.
"OW!"
"Hey, it's beat up on Nick AND AJ
day!" AJ commented smiling.
"Hello." I waved my hand, "Are you
guys still stumped or forgot you were guessing all together!?"
"I think the latter," Kevin grinned.
I sighed, "I'm Indian."
"Cool, what tribe? So do you
have moccassins and dance around with a tomahawk?" AJ asked.
"IDIOT!" Jenny swatted him, "She's
from INDIA..."
"OW!...I was joking..." AJ sheepishly
grinned.
"It's okay, I get that a lot," I said.
"Oh cool....I was gonna say Iran or
something..." Lance said.
"Sure you were, that's why you guys
kept SO silent." Hannah said. Lance made a face at her.
More silence. The Monorail stopped
, the doors opened, and we silently filed out
"Umm, guys, don't we have to get rooms...?"
Jenny asked as we followed the guys past the front desk.
"Why?" AJ asked.
"Um...maybe to, oh I dunno, SLEEP
in!?" I answered.
"You're not gonna stay with us...?"
Nick asked.
"Another assumption?" Julie questioned.
"Your point being?" Brian asked.
"Fine, not like we'd HATE to stay
with you guys...." Hannah mumbled.
"Of course not. Hey, I get to stay
too, right?" Lance asked.
"As long it's alright with your schedule."
Kevin answered.
"HELLO!? What about the thing called
PRIVACY?" Jenny asked.
"YEAH..." Julie, Hannah, and I agreed.
"You girls are so insistent," commented
AJ.
"It's okay...Let's just get them a
room close to ours." Howie suggested. Kevin nodded and headed back to the
front desk. While he made the request, Howie popped out his cell phone to
call the bodyguards. Both soon returned with keys.
"Here ya go," Kevin said, plopping
them into my hand. "Your suite is right across the hall from ours."
"SUITE?" Jenny gasped.
"COOL!" Hannah and Jenny high-fived.
Julie and I looked at our maniac friends. Jenny suddenly grabbed my arm and
ran.
"We'll meet you guys in your room
in like 20 min, k? BYE!" Julie and Hannah looked at the shocked guys and
shrugged.
"Um, yeah, I guess what Jenny said,"
Julie gave a little wave and followed Hannah who had already started to follow
us.
"A bit eager...?" Howie asked the
guys. Jenny seemed oblivious to the elevator when I noticed she was headed
for the stairs.
"Nooooo, I am NOT being dragged up
the stairs!" I stated, pulling her in the opposite direction. She gave a huff
and kept a hold of my arm, turned, and ran towards the elevators. Behind us,
Julie and Hannah turned as well. Since we had gone the wrong way, the guys
had caught up to us by the time we reached the elevator.
"Nuh-uh, no you don't, girls' ride
only!" Jenny grinned as the doors closed in their face. She then finally let
go of my arm; her attitude made it seem like she had achieved some sort of
goal.
"What was THAT for!?!?" I screamed
rubbing my arm.
"Oh nothing... I just wanna see this
SUITE!" She gave Hannah another high-five. "OH, and get away from those BOTHERSOME
guys," she giggled. Julie and I rolled our eyes.
"What floor?"
"Umm, lemme look at the room number
on the key....The TOP floor, yeeesss!" Jenny excitingly stated.
"Cool."
The doors opened to reveal the top
floor hallway. We looked at the room directory and Jenny pointed to the hall
at the right. We headed down, scanning the numbers, noticing the doors were
very spaced out.
"I guess the rooms must be big..."
Hannah mumbled. We nodded. We noticed a big, burly man outside one of the
doors. He took on a defensive stance when he saw us. I flashed him out keys
and he quietly returned to his guard position. We finally found our room,
right across from the scary man, and heard some commotion at the end of the
hall. We looked to see the guys walking down the hall towards us; they had
caught the next elevator. Jenny got all hectic and fumbled with the key trying
to open the door.
"Quick! In! In! In!" Jenny yelled
at us, shoving us into the room.
"HEY!" AJ yelled and started running,
attempting to get to us before we were inside the room.
"GET IN!" Jenny screamed and tried
to close the door quickly.
"OH NO YOU DON"T!" yelled AJ as he
reached the closing door, "NO MORE SHUTTING DOORS IN MY FACE!" He grabbed
and tried to push the door open as Jenny drastically tried to push it shut
in the opposite direction.
"HELP ME!" She screamed at us. Now
all four of us were against AJ; he was losing.
"GET OVER HERE!" he yelled at the
guys who finally caught up. Lance, Howie, and Brian were cracking up. Nick
just had a smirk on his face viewing the crazy scene. Kevin started laughing
and walked over to AJ after hearing his pleas.
"Man, calm DOWN," he told AJ. "Step
awaaaaay from the door Age, awaaaay from the door."
"WHAT!? You gonna let them win!?"
AJ yelled.
"Win? Um, win at what? Seeing who
has more control over THEIR door...?" Kevin asked.
"Hehehe, that does sound stupid, doesn't
it?" AJ realized. The guys nodded. "Sorry girls, but I've been convinced to
give up this fight." With that, he let go of the door. The force or our push
made the door slam shut; we rammed into each other.
"OW!!!!" we screamed. We could hear
the guys laughing outside.
"YOU MOCKING US!?" Hannah screamed,
trying to peel off of the door.
"Oh no, why would we EVER do that...?"
Lance managed to say between laughs.
"Guys, c'mon, don't get 'em too pissed
at us..." Kevin suggested. "Let's go to our room in peace." He tried to shoo
them into their suite.
"YEAH! LEAVE US ALONE!!!!!' Jenny
screamed, laughing.
"K, see ya in 20 min!" Nick said through
the door, then turned and went across the hall to the guys' room. The four
of us were still on the floor. We looked at each other, feeling like idiots,
and broke out laughing some more.
"OKAY, breathe in, breathe out...!"
I said when we had calmed down. The other three nodded. We helped each other
up and decided to look around the suite. It had a bit of a kitchen with some
sort of a living room. Then we saw a room with a set of twin beds, and a bathroom.
The last room had a king-sized bed and it's own bathroom.
"Ooooh! MY bed!" Jenny laughed, ran,
and jumped onto the king sized bed.
"And why is that? Birthday girl I
suppose...?" I asked. She nodded.
"You two take the twin beds, since
I wasn't supposed to be here in the 1st place..." Hannah said, motioning to
Julie and me.
"Like any of us were supposed to be
HERE in the first place!" I laughed though I knew what she meant.
"What about you...?' Julie asked.
"Me luuuuuuv couches..!" Hannah grinned.
"K, since that's settled, I say we
check out the kitchen and the living room, then head over to the guys' room."
I suggested. They agreed.
~*~*~*(In the boys' room)*~*~*~
"GOD those girls are something else!'
AJ exclaimed as the boys piled into their suite.
"Heheh, yeah." Nick grinned.
"Um, not to impose, but where do I
sleep?" Lance asked.
"OH, well, there are 3 rooms and 3
sets of twin beds. This morning, Brian and Nick already claimed one room,
and well as Howie and AJ claimed the 2nd one, so I guess you're stuck with
me." Kevin said.
Lance shrugged, "Fine with me, Daddy,"
he had caught on to their inside joke. Kevin rolled his eyes.
"Let's get back to the girls," AJ
said.
"You are too wrapped up with them,
man."
"What? Did I say, 'Get back
TO the girls?' My bad...I mean get back AT them," AJ suggested with an evil
grin.
"Get 'em back for what...?" Brian
asked.
"For being them, oh I dunno, I just
wanna play a joke!!"
"I like the idea...What'd ya have
in mind?" Nick joined AJ with the infectious evil smile.
"Well, we'll have to tell Randy so
he doesn't freak out..." AJ began to explain...
~*~*~*(In our room)*~*~*~
"C'mon you guys. The kitchen's stocked,
but I thought we're having room service or something with the guys." I said.
"Yeah, yeah, but LOOK at this TV!!"
Jenny said from her position on the couch, flipping channels.
"C'mon, I'm tempted by this food,
you do NOT want me to get started in this kitchen," Hannah warned. We nodded,
knowing her appetite, and smiled.
"Up ya go," Julie said dragging Jenny
off the couch.
"Nooo..." Jenny tried to resist by
pulling her weight down on the couch.
We finally filed out of our room and
saw the door across the hall a tad bit open. The burly man was nowhere in
sight. Jenny locked our door and we headed over. We stuck our ears to the
door; the Boys' room was oddly silent, we hoped it was the right room. We
opened the door. Hannah screamed.
