*Chapter 11 ~ Taxi Cabs, Teacups, Hats, And Snow*

The line for Roger Rabbit wound with many bends and turns, but was made to be amusing. There were things to see and look for and to point out while waiting. At one point there was a huge door on a wall, and if you pounded long enough, a little part at eye-level would open and we could see two mad eyes; a fake bouncer would say something like 'no password, no service' in a big burly voice.  Nick had fun pounding in the door time and time again until the line moved.  There were license plates to read as well, and Julie made it known that she figured out all of them before anyone.  Jenny pointed something out that was high up, and mumbled she wished she could have seen it closer.  Howie immediately picked her up and put her on his shoulders so she could see it; she of course screamed in shock.  She then commented with a smirk on how her newfound height helped her keep an eye on everyone.  AJ tickled Jenny when she wasn't looking and she lost her balance on Howie's shoulders...and fell into his arms.  Once her feet returned to the ground, she reprimanded AJ and went and hid behind an amused Brian.  Kevin got a gleam in his eye, possibly remembered what he had done to me in Space Mountain, so I immediately went to join Jenny in hiding.  Brian then pretended to be a superhero and placed his hands on his hips and stood up straight and warded the guys off in an imitation-heroic tone.  Hannah and Lance were getting a kick out of the whole scene.
Finally, we got to the front of the line.  Nick, not wanting to lose another chance to ride with Julie, asked her immediately to ride with him, and she agreed. Brian's heart sank. Kevin grabbed my arm and pulled me into one of the cartoon taxis.
"Me drive this time," he said smiling, mocking me. I made a face.
"Um, can I ride with you guys?" Brian meekly asked.
"Sure!" I replied as he sat down next to me. I was now squished between two Backstreet Boys. Only hours ago I would have never believed such an occurrence could happen. I noticed Jenny was in my predicament as well, but with AJ and Howie. Lance gave his hand to Hannah and, with a thick British butler accent, helped her into the taxi. She grinned.
"You sure you don't hate getting stuck with me all the time?" he asked once they were in their car.
"Of course, dork!" she said pointing her finger on his nose. He smiled.
The ride jerked forward and Nick really got into making the taxi turn round and round and round. Julie was screaming at him to stop but all he said was, "I'm practicing for the teacups...!"
Kevin and Brian fought over the controls of our taxi; Brian apparently hadn't heard Kevin call the right to drive. Jenny was complaining, as usual, and Howie felt bad for always making her miserable. AJ didn't care, he just HAD to turn the taxi as fast as he could. Hannah had let Lance drive, and for the moment it seemed like she was regretting that decision.
In all the commotion, Brian began thinking about Julie. For some reason, as if trying to find an excuse that they wouldn't work out, something hit him; she's only 18. He was too old for her...right? It began to bother him; he let it bother him. Nick seemed better paired with her when he thought of age. But she doesn't act 18, she's mature, kind, funny, caring...but I'm too old for her. He couldn't get his mind straight. It was as if he was trying to convince himself he wasn't right for Julie. If I just tell her our age difference isn't right...it'd be easier cuz she wouldn't have to choose between Nick and me...
Walking out of Roger Rabbit, we were met with the crazy sights of Toon Town. Roger Rabbit himself came up behind an unsuspecting Nick and scared the hell out of him; we swore we heard his scream echo.  Jenny and Julie got a picture with Minnie Mouse, Brian and Lance got a picture with Mickey. AJ found Dopey and begged for a moment of the character's time for a picture. Kevin found Baloo the Bear and made me pose for a picture. I still needed a picture with Eeyore, though; Kevin promised we'd get one.. Lance tried to squeeze all 10 of us into the miniature Toon Town Trolley; a bit painful. Before we left, Brian spotted a churro cart and treated everyone.
Nick and Brian led the way to the Teacups. This time Brian tried to allow Nick request a ride with Julie without letting it fully get to him. Lance did the same with Hannah, who attempted to take a long time to decide whether or not to go with him.  When we were let go to find our teacups, Brian chose to go with Jenny, who melodramatically acted out the fact that riding with him was 100% better than being stuck with AJ and Howie (both boys actually ended up being stuck together). Passing by Kev and me in a blue teacup, Brian made a nonchalant comment about how odd it was that I was always with his cousin on every ride.  I lifted an eyebrow in question...he just kept on walking by....The teacups started round and round. Again, Nick was making Julie scream and he tired to turn the cup faster and faster; Kevin and I agreed their cup was going the fastest.  Lance had let Hannah at the wheel, commenting how utterly slow she was turning the cup. Brian and Jenny seemed to be having fun mocking everyone else. AJ seemed a bit mad, turning the wheel seemed to be his only agenda; he didn't care that Howie was telling him to slow down.
When we got off the ride, we headed toward the Matterhorn.
"Dude, Howie looks a little green," Nick whispered to us. He did. He was lagging behind, almost clutching his stomach.
"Howie, c'mere," Jenny instructed. He obeyed. She looked at him. "Okee, who's gonna take him to the restroom?" she asked, eyeing the boys.
"I will...since I made him sick." AJ offered guiltily. He looked at me for directions, I sighed and pointed. The rest of us decided to go to the Mad Hatter's shop. Hannah nudged Lance.
"Remember the simulator Chris dragged Justin into?" Lance looked at her quizzically. "You know, they showed that when you guys did the Disney Concert..."
"Ohhh..." His face changed as he remembered, "....Yeah" He said with a grin.
Jenny had the girls all try on different colored princess hats.
"You look like a quartet...YHES." Lance commented (he pronounced it like ‘yes' with an ‘h' softening it)
        "What?!" Hannah inquired confused.
"Ya know...the last letters like *N Sync...jennY, hannH, juliE, Sarah...YHES" he explained.
"Idiot--Sarah's name doesn't END  in an S!...Why not the Backstreet Girls!? Or even JJHS...like the group TLC" Nick got defensive.
"Cuz that wouldn't make sense," Lance shot back.
        "As if YHES does!"
"Makes more sense then Backstreet Girls or JJHS, I bet they've never been to Florida!"
"That has nothing to do with it!"
"Whoa there you two," Julie stepped in between them.
She's pretty when she's a peacemaker, Brian thought. Shut up! So what if she is? Nick can think that, not me...
Hannah then found four huge idiotic looking hats and shoved them on the guys' heads.
"And what was that for...!?" Brian tried to ask pushing up the over-sized hat above his mouth so he could speak.  We broke out into laughter.
"Uh-oh, another laughing fit." Lance warned the boys.
"And what is soo funny?" AJ asked entering the room with a relieved-looking Howie.
"The girls are having another laugh attack," Lance explained.
"Let's drag 'em outta here before they draw any more attention." Kevin suggested....We ventured to the line for the Matterhorn.
In this ride, the cars had two compartments, each that seated 2 people.  In each compartment, the shorter person had to sit, not quite, but  almost in the taller person's lap...
"So Kev, you gonna sit with Sarah?" Brian hinted under his breath so only Kevin could hear.
"And what is THAT supposed to mean?"
"Oh, nothing. She would be kinda sitting in your lap, ya know."
"Excuse, me little cousin, but you have a dirty mind."
"Oh no, no, no... you do! You came up with THAT thought. I only meant you two would be stuck together...again." He said with a grin, leaving Kevin thinking.
"Hey Brian, you wanna sit with me?" Julie asked.
"I...um...naw, sokay....you can sit with Nick." Brian wriggled out of the situation by leaving the vicinity, going up to the front of our group.
"Oh...ok." Julie said, a bit hurt, and curious about his actions. She tried to shrug it off. Nick had overheard the conversation and wondered what it meant.
Lance grinned at Hannah, "Guess who gets to sit in my lap!"
"You are so bad!" she playfully hit him.
"Um...I'm gonna go alone." Brian stated.
"Me too...don't' wanna throw up on somebody..." Howie tried to grin.
"Ohhh Jeeeeennnnnyyyyy...looks like you're stuck with me!" AJ laughed an evil laugh. She rolled her eyes.
"Fine, fine, fine...I guess I'll live...SOMEWHOW..." she emphasized jokingly.
The start was a steep incline...my heart jumped, there wasn't a drop in this ride...right? Right, I should know this ride...of course there isn't a drop, stupid. Kevin felt me tense up.
"I don't think there's a drop...calm down," he whispered. The position reminded me of Splash Mountain...his whispers sent shivers through me yet again.
Anyway, we were both right. There were no big drops...just little ones and fun turns at high speeds. Howie was shouting, AJ and Brian both where whooping with their arms in the air, and Lance was yelling. Julie, Jenny, and Hannah were screaming. When came to a stop and waited to get off the ride, Howie looked unsure if he was happy or sick, Brian and AJ were still whooping, Julie and Jenny were laughing...and Lance's arms were around Hannah's waist.
