Walking down the street ...
no, i'm not as insane as u think, kiddies.
this is basically gonna be a place to jot down things that have happened to me, or that i have noticed, in public, etc, dealing with the Boys...odd, i know, but so what?
*Burger King, 8/28/00
My friends and I show up at 11AM to be safe...and no one was there. [we don't look obsessive, of course not!] the manager was helping someone with a cash register, and when we ask about what CD they had this week. he said they were still in his office, he'd have to check. So...he came out with the 1st CD and the video. go us. Oh, and I will never eat another whopper again, however. that was my ONLY meal -- it sat in my stomach all day, blech. (the things i do to get bsb stuff...sheesh =)
Anyway, now past the odd stuff, here's the cutest thing : about 30 minutes later, a lady showed up with two little boys. They got happy meals. While the woman when to fill drinks, the boys opened their bags. They pulled out the little BSB action figures (no, i'm not gonna stoop so low as to try to get those ), and looked at the posters around them..."I think I got Brian," one said..."Really? I want AJ!" the other declared. and they proceeded to discuss each of the Boys and their powers--I guess they already had the comic book..my friends and I looked at eachother...stop the cuteness. That was priceless.*On TV, 9/16/00
Lounging around, watching some tv, killing a bit of time before I had things to do...I came across this teen (?) gameshow type thing called "Pressure One" or something (I've never seen it again after that day)...It was the last round. This guy and girl had to answer some questions [duh]...The dude didn'tknow when Colubus landed here ["1776?"...no, um, try 1492], among other things...but u know what he DIDget? "How many members in the Backstreet Boys?" "FIVE!"...a genius, huh?*Phone call, 9/17/00
I was attempting to do some work when one of the phone lines started screaming at me. I ran across the house, practically killing myself when slipping on the floor, and I picked it up. It was my uncle saying my little cousin wanted to tell me something. The little guycame on and says "GUESS WHAT? I GOT KEVIN!!" I blinked. what did he just say? "I GOT KEVIN! he's so cool! he's all in red and..." ohh, the burger king kids meal. My cos also rattled off about how he loved the cd --I asked him which one, he told me it was blue --and how his little brother "got the guy in the blue cloak thingie" [howie]...isn't that the cutest thing on the planet? calling long distance because they went to BK ;o) : :grins: : i love 'em.*On the radio, 1/14/01
I was listening to the radio while driving to school...low and behold "The Call" became the topic of discussion in between songs. Some guy called up and asked about the nightly playing of the top 5 requested songs for the day...he asked if he could request that the BSB single NOT be played. The DJ laughed and asked if the guy liked BSB: "Sure, they're fine, I usually like their music...but that song is annoying." The resolution was that he could try get his friends to call [in vain] and request the not be played to cancel out requests for it, nobody would stop him......hasn't seemed to work so far. (heh).*Imagine that, 2/3/01
My dad had gone on a month-long trip and was just beginning to experiment with the wideworld of MP3's...he asked for "the best of BSB" in my opinion; my limit on the number of songs was how much I could fit on a zip disk. This took me by surprise... I did my duty and gave him a jam-packed disk...he said he listened to it off an on. Today he informed me he had been listening to the songs for a sustained amount of time for the past few days...This is the man who is responsible for me growing up listening to (and still liking) Queen, Eurythmics, the Bangles, Simon&Garfunkle, the Police, etc...I am now proud to announce that the Boys officially have his approval. My father enjoys their music. ;o)*In Barnes and Noble, 4/15/01
These three little boys, well, not really little, but young, were looking at magazines. I was looking for a book, and I overheard them arguing over a teeny-bop mag one of them was supposedly getting for his sister. "This is Brian." "No, dumb-ass, that one's Nick." "You dork, you couldn't even pick out AJ"...etc. It was cute =)*At home, 6/7/01
So a friend came over and she wanted to burn a CD so she looked through my mp3's...she meant to hit something else but picked "Don't want you back" by mistake to listen to. She did a double take when she saw it was by the Boys because A) she liked it and B) she thought it was "Bye Bye Bye"*On the other side of the planet 6/26/02
Visiting family in India for one of my cousin's weddings...I got the chance to buy some CD's. The problem with the US is that people can be international stars and we never hear about them--grr. Anyway, I was in Heaven, seeing all these artists and music I couldn't get at home, when I stumbled upon the "interntational blockbuster" shelf (mind you, this was in more than one store)...it was about 10 CD's or so, depending on the store...and to my utter delight, Chapter One was in those set of shelves every single time ;o)
