~*Into The Millennium Tour*~
Concert memories...
I split this up into five parts....any time I have some pix
for a section, you'll see words linked up. Some might not match, cuz I dunno
which songs go with some pix...my camera had no zoom, so those pix were, um,
interesting. My friend's camera did, however - and later into the show, she
decided to run down flights of stairs to get a better view ;o)...btw--if u
read my NBY etc stories, u might recognize names. like i said in the faq,
the girls aren't real, but based on my friends--these friends.
Oh, by the way...I don't know what's wrong with my scanner
or my picture program, but a lot of the blue lights etc show up purple, even
the boys LTL costumes look a bit purple instead of blue - don't ask me
why, but I'm just letting you know...! [*sigh* but oh well, you'll still see
'em!]
**side note/update: i've now witnessed 2--yes, two--black&blue concerts, as well...if u guys want reviews & pictures, let me know. i don't have bunches of free time to scan & write, but i will if it's wanted...
You'd better read all of it...or...or...bear, panda, tyke, and all the rest of 'em will SIT ON YOU!!!!! ;o)
Now what should I say about the concert? Hmmmm. ::rubs hands together:: well, here we gooooo…
~*~*~*~
We arrived
at the venue at maybe about 5:30. ("We" being me, and - for the sake
of those who read my fanfic NBY, I'll use the names of the characters that
were based on my close friends...out of the five, Jenny, Chin, and Cathy
came, as well as Chin's mother and my mother). We had seen many cars with
posters taped on them, streamers, and things written (like "follow me to
the BSB"). On the way into one of the many the parking lots, we saw a lot
of trucks - probably for all the equipment. Some girls were standing by some
road entrance with tons of signs - probably hoping to catch the tour bus.
In my opinion, I would have thought the BSB have already be there...
We immediately
went to buy stuff at the stand that was closest to the parking lot that
we had come from. I got something I told myself I would never get…a t-shirt.
But it had the tour dates on it so, so, BLAH. I got a poster, tour
book, and a set of good pictures (which are also postcards - like hell I’m
gonna use them to send to people). We got our pic taken with a new mini type
of Polaroid picture/camera - there was a huge banner on which people were
signing their names and sticking up the tiny pix with 'em. I put the address
to my website (don't look at me like that)…Chin kept our pic…I forgot wut
the others wrote…Mama and Chin's mom put up their pic and said "we luv kevin"
...haha...
I gave Jenny a piggy pack ride. We went across the street
to a restaurant...just to use the bathroom ;o) on the way there and back,
all these men were hanging around whispering "need tickets?" - scalpers,
plain and simple. If only we each had about $300 bucks, we could have had
better seats…oh well...
We walked
back to the venue and people were crowded around all the doors, on all
four freaking sides of the building. [I didn't and still don't see a point
in it - it wasn't like first come first serve for seats, so why would it
matter who in the venue first? We had plenty of time.] They started
screaming and causing a scene. More people ran to try and see what the crowd
screaming about - I guess they assumed the BSB were out there shaking hands
or something. Kat and I got on a lamp post to look - it was so idiotic: there
was a girl and guy in white shirts holding up pix of the BSB, trying to get
the crowd revved up…umm, what was the point- I mean, little girls outside
of the crowd were trying to jump and strain their neck hoping to see the BSB
when the Boys weren't even there! Then the freaks started chanting "Let us
in! Let us in!" and "Backstreet Boys , Backstreet
Boys!"...[Jen, Chin, Kat, and I chanted "Give it up! Give it up!"...
We stopped
, though - we didn't want to get killed by mad BSB fans... but I think
we were one of the few with sane heads on our shoulders.]
Every entrance was the same - crowds of people being revved
up. It bugged me. We had to squeeze our way in when the doors finally opened
- I'm not sure what time, somewhere between 6:30 and 7pm. We found a lovely
sign and took yet another pic
;o)
We went to get food first. While people were debating on
what to eat, I went to check out the
seating arrangements.
It wasn't as bad as I thought. It took a bit of a hike to get to our
seats, though - it was a hockey stadium, so our terrace seats weren't too
bad…at least when we sat down we didn't see ppls heads in front of us; their
heads were at our knees ;o).
