"You guys are
gonna be staying here for four days, right?" Howie asked, before putting
some food in his mouth. We were in a nice restaurant in L.A. It had taken
about fifteen minutes to drive from the airport.
"Yeah," Cathy replied.
"I'm glad the luggage
was sent to the hotel already," Chin grinned.
"Wait, luggage?
Is that why some of my clothes were missing?!" Julie demanded. Nick
practically choked on his food laughing. "Hey, it's not funny!" Julie pretended
to pout.
"Sorry," he snickered.
"Hope you won't
be sick of us...being in the same hotel n' all," Brian grinned.
"Hello?! I'm already
sick of you! We talk to you like what, every day!?" Jenny laughed.
"I can't believe
we pulled this off!" I said.
"Yeah, good work
you guys," Kevin smiled.
Lance and Hannah
were siting next to each other and were attempting to talk. I could
tell they felt uncomfortable, but they were making the best of it.
"It's good you got
Lance to come," Julie, who was sitting next to me, leaned over and whispered.
"Cathy insisted,"
I quietly laughed.
"Don't you feel
bad that you guys didn't do anything for Sarah?" Jenny piped in.
"HEY! A phone call
is something!" AJ stated.
"For the Backstreet
Boys? That's NOTHING!" Jenny crossed her arms.
"It's okay...I don't
care...You guys are busy, so don't worry...My birthday is long gone..." I
insisted.
"Look, we just finished
rehearsing for the tour, so we're free..." Kevin began.
"SIX FLAGS!" Nick
and Brian said in unison. We looked at them oddly.
"Um, so what if
we already had an idea...?" Nick grinned and twirled his fork.
"Oh dear..." I sighed.
We heard some music
start and Howie was first to notice the dance floor. He dragged Cathy to
dance. Nick asked Julie sincerely, and she accepted. Kevin grabbed my arm
and pulled me onto the floor before I could protest. After some good-natured
bickering, AJ finally convinced Chin to dance. Brian attempted to ask Jenny,
but she made a face and opted to sit...to watch and make fun of the rest
of us; Brian agreed to join in on the new spectator sport. Hannah mumbled
an excuse about the bathroom and left the table. Jenny swung an arm around
Lance and pulled him into her and Brian's discussion about our "utterly
horrid" dancing styles. Eventually Hannah came back, and joined in on the
conversation.
Soon, it was mid-afternoon
and we decided that we should get to the hotel. The guys had some things
to do and went their separate ways for a few hours. We all agreed to meet
in the hotel lobby to decide about dinner.
We were in the lobby,
heading towards the elevator. Julie was still skeptical about what we might
have still had up our sleeves.
"So you're not gonna
have Nick jump out of a cake and scare me or something, right?" she asked
us in the lobby. I burst out laughing.
"Only if you WANT
that, dear," I giggled and nudged her.
"Oh shut up," she
replied, trying not to smile. We got in the elevator of the hotel and Cathy
pushed our floor number.
"Hannah, are you
okay?" Chin asked. We looked at Hannah; she hadn't spoken much since we had
met the limo.
"I didn't know Lance
was coming," she mumbled.
"Well if Julie gets
to talk to Nick, shouldn't you get to talk to Lance?" Cathy asked.
"I guess...it was
just hard to. Julie's kept up with Nick on ICQ..."
"So?" Julie asked.
"It's not so awkward
for you and him. You've talked with Nick like every other night. I only talked
to Lance the one time you guys made me..."
"Oh..." Chin understood.
"I'm sorry, it was
my idea to have him here..." Cathy murmured.
"And it was a good
idea Kat! I just need to...face this," Hannah said as the elevator opened
and we got out on our floor.
"A SUITE!!!!!!!!!"
Jenny screeched as she opened the door with the key.
"Déja-vu..."
I smiled and said under my breath. Julie, Hannah, and I laughed at her reaction
as she ran off to inspect the suite.
"Um, are we missing
something...?" Chin asked as she and Cathy held blank faces.
"She also got excited
about the suite we got at the Disneyland hotel the night we stayed there..."
"Which we never
got to use for that matter!" Jenny yelled from one of the rooms.
"Ohhh," Cathy grinned.
"Damn, I wish Kat
and I hadn't been busy that day!" Chin laughed.
"I thought I'd be
busy too...but I guess I was lucky," Hannah grinned.
"I GET THE SHOWER
FIRST!" we heard Jenny yell as the bathroom door slammed.
"Sorry, this was
all for your birthday celebration, so you should have gotten the shower first...but
I think Jenny's a little happy right now," I smiled at Julie as she nodded
and laughed.
~*~*~*(In a car...with Brian, Nick, and Lance)*~*~*~
"So how'd it go
with Hannah, Lance...?" Brian inquired as he drove.
"I dunno...she was
kind of distant. She didn't know I was coming in the first place," Lance
replied from the back. "I guess it was okay. At least we're talking. I guess
starting over is good, but right now it's a bit uncomfortable...What about
you and Julie, Nick?"
"Good...I mean,
I was talking to her on ICQ before this-- I'll admit that was much easier
than on the phone or in person--but this was good...I finally got to see
her again..." Nick sighed. "But we're still on the friends thing."
"Huh?" Brian asked.
"You know...we're
not really together...we're trying to be friends right now...it's what she
wanted...and I thought it'd be fine...but now that I've seen her and talked
to her... it's killing me..."
"I doubt you'll
be friends for long," Lance commented.
"What?" Nick turned
around from the passenger's seat.
"I can see it...you'll
be with her again...don't' worry, bro," Lance assured him.
"Same goes for you,
Lance...Don't give up," Brian added.
