*Chapter 16 ~ Wake Up Call*

        KNOCK
Julie slowly opened an eye.  Some light from a window was on her face.  She tried to move and noticed an arm on her shoulder.  She blinked.  Where was she?  She picked up her head and came face to face with a sleeping Nick Carter and almost screamed...Oh, now she remembered.
        KNOCK KNOCK
What was that knocking?  She scanned the room.  Everyone else was still asleep.  She noticed that some people were missing, but couldn't decipher exactly who.
        KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.
She heard faint laughter.  She finally came to the realization that the knocking was coming from the door.  She shook her head and tried to fully wake up.  She quietly got off the couch, as not to disturb Nick.  She stumbled to the door and slowly opened it.  She rubbed her eyes; was she seeing correctly?  Before her stood four people in wet nightclothes.
"Took you long enough, my dear," I commented.
"Sorry," Julie groggily replied, "But you know I am not a morning person."
"I'm surprised the others didn't get up instead," Brian shrugged.
"Can we come in?" Jenny smirked; Julie was standing, half-asleep, in the doorway.
"Wha? OH yeah, sure," Julie half smiled and stepped aside.
"Sorry to wake you up," Kevin apologized.
"Don't worry about it," Julie assured him. "By the way, uh, am I still too sleepy to not see straight, or are you guys, um, wet...?"
"Why don't we have the cousins explain themselves?" Jenny asked. Brian and Kevin snickered.
        "Hnnmmm?" Julie was still groggy.
"Yeah, you guys, why don't you explain why we're all wet..." I reminded them.
"Uhhh?" Julie was getting confused. The guys looked at each other and shrugged.
"Jenny and Sarah decided to go have an adventure without telling anyone so we got them back by throwing them into the pool but then they got mean!" Brian said grinning.
"Ahhhumanawah?...Restate that slower, and have it make sense, please..." Julie asked rubbing her eyes.
"Sarah woke up early and left to go sit by the pool with out telling anyone.  Apparently Jenny woke up too and went to join her.  We, Bri and I, decided to play a trick on them.  Brian went first and successfully hurled Jenny into the pool, but she pulled him in.  I picked up Sarah and dropped her in the pool...but she soon got revenge...otherwise, only three of us would have been wet, ahem ..." Kevin explained, eyeing me.  I gave an innocent smile.
"Oh." It seemed to finally click in Julie's head, sort of.
"Hey...That's the story. You know what? We should thank Julie for graciously attempting to wake up just to let us back into this comfy room!" Jenny evilly grinned, but Julie didn't notice. Brian, Kevin, and I caught on.
"Group HUG!!!!" Brian announced. The four of us enveloped Julie before she could reply the statement.
"Uuughhh! You're all wet and now SO AM I!!!!" she squirmed in her grip.
"You're also awake now too," I grinned when we let go.
"MAN, SHUT UP!" we heard a groggy, muffled cry from the couches.
"I SECOND THAT!" Another muffled cry.
        "Wha...?" A confused sound.
        "Hannah, stop moving." A mumble.
"Howie, move your leg." A mutter.
"GOOD MORNIN' SUNSHINE!" Jenny yelled. While we remained standing to hear the complaints, she had run over to the window and pulled open the blinds.
"AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!" AJ shielded his eyes from the blast of the sun's rays. Four other pairs of eyes were awakened as well.
"WHERE AM I!!??!...ohhhhh..." we heard Hannah.
"DUDE, scream loud enough into my ear?!" Lance complained, rubbing his ear.
"MAN, I WANT SLEEP, SO SHUT THE HELL UP!" AJ screamed.
" I SECOND THAT!" Nick yelled.
        "Nick...get up," Julie grumbled.
"Fine, fine, I'm up, happy?" He stood up slouched.
"MOVE IT OR LOSE IT, BUDDY!" Hannah yelled at Lance and wriggled out of his grasp to get up.
        "Wha...? Lose what...?" AJ mumbled.
"You have a sick brain, man," Brian commented.
"Nick...? Nick...?" Julie asked.  Nick was half-asleep in his standing position.
"...and I thought I was bad," Kevin commented at Nick's sleeping.
        "You ARE," Howie said, stretching.
"Don't worry I'm up..." Nick weakly stated, almost teetering in his standing position.
"GET UP..." Hannah grabbed Lance's arms and tried to pull him off the ground.
"Ni-ICK!" Julie shook him, once noticing he was falling asleep, now leaning against the wall.
"I'm up I'm up I'm up!" he tried to convince us. AJ still needed to get up, however.
"AJ...don't MAKE me sing..." Jenny threatened.
"Yeah, whatever..." He grumbled, not moving from the couch.
"FINE...You are my sunshine! My only sunshine!..." she started, perfectly out of tune. She swatted him with a pillow and continued singing.
        "OW!"
"Time you got up, bu-uh-ddy." Jenny had chucked a heavy pillow at his exposed head.
"I'm up, I'm up," he grumbled, standing up to rub his head.
"Now that we're all up, how's about some fooood?" Brian suggested.
        "I second that."
        "You second everything Nick."
        "So?"
        We rolled our eyes.
"It's umm 6:30 AM...." I said, checking my watch.
"WELL...I say that we trek downstairs and have that nice sounding breakfast/brunch buffet!" Hannah broke in. "Ohh, nice alliteration, if I must say so myself!" she grinned.
"Haha, thanks to Mrs. Allen's 8th grade English class!" I laughed as Jenny and Julie nodded. Hannah pouted.
"But I didn't have Mrs. Allen like you three did, you dorks!...I'm just a GENIUS when it comes to stuff like that!" Hannah replied with a false air of snootiness.
"But..." Lance was processing what Hannah said about breakfast, "...then we'd have to change and look presentable!" he whined.
"Yeah..." The realization began to hit the rest of the Boys.
"BABIES!" I said. "Are you hungry or not?"
        "Well..." Kevin thought.
        "Um..." Howie mumbled.
        "Er..." Brian and Nick contemplated.
        "Uh..." Lance pondered.
        "Erm..." AJ muttered.
        "Well?" I asked.
"YES!" Nick and Brian said in unison.
"Thought so," I replied. "Now, if we ARE going downstairs to eat, I suggest we do change." Jenny, Julie, and Hannah nodded.
"Our clothes are in the other room, c'mon," Julie instructed.
"Can I come too?" Nick innocently asked.
"YOU, hush up..." Julie grinned and followed us to the room.
"Is that a 'no' then...?" We heard Nick faintly ask as we left the vicinity. The guys laughed at him.

"Ewwy! Yesterday's clothes...!" Jenny grimaced jokingly.
"Well what else do you want to wear?" Hannah asked.
"HOW ABOUT NOTHING?" we heard AJ suggest from the spot where we had left them.
"KEEP QUIET!" Jenny screeched back. We hadn't closed the door when Brian suddenly popped his head in. She screamed...she was closest to the door.
"Oops, sorry, didn't mean to scare you!" he grinned. She made a face at him. "Anywayz, want me to 'kill' him for ya?" he asked with an evil grin. She pretended to think for a minute, then nodded, and he bounded off.
"He's so cute when he does things like that," she said. The three of us stopped changing and looked at her.
"Second time there Jenny, " I commented.
        "What?"
"Second comment by you with Brian as the subject..." I said, referring to last night and her dreamy agreement.
        "Jenny likes Brian...?" Julie whispered.
"WHAT? NO!" Jenny hit her. "It's just...never mind! Let' s just change, okay?" We nodded. Hannah was smirking.
"Well you and Julie have no reason to smirk..." I started.
"I'm not smirking," Julie defended herself.
"Yeah, whatever," I commented, "But what's with you two? You both had nice shoulders for pillows it seemed."
"Shut up!" Julie grinned and chucked a pillow form the nearby bed at me. I screamed and ducked; it hit Hannah.
        "HEY!" she yelled.
"PILLOW FIGHT! AGAIN!!!!!" Jenny yelled. We began to attack each other mercilessly; from outside all you could hear was muffled screams.

The Boys regrouped in the main room after they had changed but had noticed that we, who had left first to change, had not returned yet.
"Geeze... girls take a long time to change!" Howie muttered.
"Haha, and usually it's D who keeps us waiting!" Brian mused.
        "Shut up!"
"But then there's AJ..." Brian continued.
"HEY, man, lay off!" AJ pouted.
"But anywayz, where ARE the girls?" Brian inquired.
"Who knows...maybe their suite?" Nick said.
"They're in the room that they changed in last night, one of ours, dork," Brian stated.
"Did you just call me a dork?"
        "Yes..."
        "Well you're a dorkWAD."
        "...oh, superb comeback."
"Guys, stop. Should we wait here and have you two fight...or go find them and bug 'em?" Kevin inquired.
"I like your thinking Kev..." Lance said and began walking towards the room we had borrowed. The Boys shrugged and followed. As they got closer, they heard muffled yelps. They knocked but we didn't hear them, so Lance, the first, cautiously opened the door. We froze in our positions and looked at them. They burst out laughing at us.  Julie was on the floor with her hair in a mess (well, all of our hair was screwed), Hannah was balancing on a chair, Jenny was standing on the bed, where she had been beating me, and I was teetering on its edge. I fell off during the Boys laughing fit.
"Hardy ha ha...now SHOO!" Jenny said pushing them out of the room.
"But why? You girls are dressed."
"We must regain our composure mind you, now SHOO!" The guys reluctantly left the room and Jenny shut the door.

"Finally" (according the guys), we emerged, presentable. It was then that Nick mentioned he had already ordered room service. We practically killed him...The food finally arrived, lucky for him. The rest of us were aghast at the amount of food Nick, Brian...and Hannah consumed.  AJ, supposedly by mistake, sprayed some whipped cream in Jenny's general direction.  Some got on her face and she was going to retaliate before Kevin stopped them. On the way to the kitchen sink to wash their hands, Nick and Brian got into a shoving fight, and Jenny and Julie had to separate them before they knocked us all over.  We somehow survived everything and returned to the couches in the Boys' suite.
"Soooooo...NOW what?" Kevin sighed flopping onto a couch. No one knew.
"Haha, we could watch TITANIC again..." I giggled.
        "NO!" Nick and Brian yelled.
"But Bri...!" Jenny pouted, trying not to smile.
"You must have been obsessed with it..." Kevin commented.
"But then YOU guys came along..." Jenny said before I could reply.
"What do you mean?" Brian asked plopping down beside her
"Oh GOD you should see her room! 1/4 is titanic, the other 3/4 of it is BSB, oh and then there's the ceiling!" Jenny laughed.
"S-so?" I stuttered as the guys grinned at me, "I'm not obsessed in the way I track you guys down, steal your grass (Nick grinned), or know every bit of trivia on you!...besides, Julie's room is the SAME!" I pointed at her.
        "Well...so is Chin's!" Julie retaliated.
        "Who's Chin...?" Nick asked.
"A friend who's also obsessed like Julie and Sarah," Hannah stated.
        "Cool," Lance said.
"But I, of course, like your group better!" Hannah said so only he could hear.
"So what are we going to do?" Howie asked no one in particular.
        "Dunno," Julie answered.
"What do you guys do for fun?" he asked.
        "Well..." I thought.
"Hehe, we dance to your music!" Hannah giggled.
        "What...?" Nick asked, confused.
"Oh nothing really, just one time we had a sleepover at Chin's when we were younger and um we attempted to learn the ‘That's the way I like it' choreographed dance..." Julie smiled at the memory.
"Of course I didn't attempt it..." Jenny mentioned.
"Chin again is mentioned, that's a cool name..." AJ commented.
"HEY!" A light bulb went on in Hannah's head.
        "Wha..."
"Could we call Chin from here?" she asked. "She and Cathy are alll alone in the house!"
"YEAH!!! Can we??" Jenny, Julie, and I begged.
"I don't see why not..." Kevin began.
"Okay, then, um, who should call?" I asked.
"I KNOW!  Nick's her favorite, let's give her a heart attack!" Jenny evilly grinned.
        "Wha...?' Nick mumbled.
"YEAH!" Julie, Hannah, and I agreed. Julie quickly dialed and shoved the phone in his face.  He looked at our eager faces and those of the other amused boys.
"I...um...what do I say when someone p-picks up?" he stumbled.
"Um a HI would suffice, buttmonkey," Julie said.
"Did you just call me a buttmonkey?"
"Haha, yeah, so what of it?" she laughed at him, Nick opened his mouth to say something but she cut him off, "NO, no time for a comeback Nick. You're on the phone right now, pay attention to that!"
The phone rang once. Then twice. Nick shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He was going to give up but someone picked up after the third ring.
        "Hello?" Chin answered the phone.
        "Um...Hi."
        "Who is this?"
Nick looked at us. "Um, I-is Ch-Chin there?"
"This is she, who is this?"
Nick looked at us again. "Go on!" Julie motioned.
        "Um...this is Nick."
        There was a pause.
        "Um, I'm sorry, but I don't know a Nick."
"Oh...yes you do." Nick quickly said; this kept her from hanging up the phone.
        "NO I don't, I'm sorry. Goodbye."
Before Nick could answer, he heard a CLICK. He looked at us with a defeated face.
        "What happened?" Julie asked.
        "She hung up on me"
"HaHAAA she hung up on Nicky!" AJ laughed.
"Gimmie the phone," Julie instructed, grabbing it from Nick. She dialed the number again.
        "Hello?"
        "Hey, Chin!"
        "Hi, Julie!"
        "What's up?"
"Some dude who I didn't know just called. It freaked me out...I mean, he said I knew him, but I don't, so I hung up." Julie giggled.
        "What's so funny?"
"Who did he say he was?"
        "Nick, just Nick, that's all."
"And you don't know a Nick, do you?"
        "No, we've been through this, I don't."
        "You sure?"
"YES, Julie, god, what is up with you?"
"Well who's up on your walls?"
"What do you mean? What has gotten into you?"
"Who's up on your walls," Julie repeated.
" Julie, who else? The BACKSTREET BOYS for crying out loud! Kevin, Howie, AJ, Brian and...Nick."
        "Bingo."
        "You are NOT serious."
        "Hmmm?"
"Nick, THE Nick did NOT just all me."
"OH no, I called you, I dialed the number."
        "Phew..."
"...And Nick only talked to you."
Chin paused, then screamed.  Julie laughed and pulled the phone away from her ear, we all heard the scream.
        "WHERE ARE YOU?!" Chin asked.
        "Disneyland, remember?"
        "But, but...no way."
        "Yes way."
        "You did NOT meet them.
"We DID meet them." Julie turned around and pointedly tapped the phone. "She doesn't believe me guys, I'm sorry," she said in mock shame.
"I found everyone up here when I came late, Chin! And guess what? Lance is here too!" Hannah screamed for our housemate to hear. Julie turned her attention back to the phone.
        There was silence.
        "Chin...?"
"Why the hell didn't you guys call me sooner?!"
