*Chapter 2 ~ New Companions For The Day*

The man ran over to the group of guys, but a bit late, apparently.
"Dammit, Kevin! Where were you when I needed the quarters...?!" the blond one yelled at him, disappointed that his time was up, the game was over.
"Sorry, Nick," he grumbled, "some girls needed it more than you did, okay? Calm down!"
"Girls?" Nick swirled around, his attention changed.
"Yeah," Kevin shrugged, "They were in the same situation, but I had a feeling the girl playing was at a better level than you, so I thought they needed to borrow at the moment--"
"Aww, what a gentleman," Nick cut him off.
"Oh, shut up," Kevin shoved Nick's cap over his eyes.
"Soo, where are these girls that owe you money?"
"Brian, are you blind? Across the aisle." Kevin pointed to us;  Julie and I spun. Not wanting them to know we had been spying on them, we acted intent on watching Jenny finish her game. "But don't worry, the older looking-one paid me back already."
"I wonder who they are...hhhmmm, they look exotic ya know? Two are Asian I'm guessing, but the other one, I dunno..." AJ thought out loud.

"Who are those annoying guys staring at us from over there?" Jenny asked us about her observation made out of the corner of her eye.
"Um, well, um..." Julie stumbled, not knowing what to say.
"We think we know, but we dunno, we're not sure." I added, not helping much.
"That was articulate," Jenny replied, "You can't exactly know who strangers are, but I wanted to know what's up with them," she continued, still glued to her game. "And what's up with you two? Quiet all of a sudden?" she inquired, but no response from us; we were too shocked to move.

"Age, now don't you go harass them!" Brian warned his friend as the tattooed man got a twinkle in his eye.
"Harass them? Owch!" AJ said, dramatically clutching his chest "That hurt Bri! Harass beautiful girls? Why, I would never do that!" He faintly placed his hand to is head "Never has a thought like that crossed my mind!" He finished his dramatic scene with a small clap from Howie. "C'mon Howard, let's go bug 'em!" he added with a smirk, dragging Howie along. Howie, pleading with his eyes, forced all the guys to come along.

I felt a tap on my shoulder. Julie and I twirled around to find five guys in front of us.
        "Hi," we said meekly.
"Hi again," Kevin replied, smiling at me.
        Silence, horrible, uncomfortable silence.
AJ broke the ice. "So wuzzup? Why are three beautiful women like you alone in this arcade?" We looked at him in shock for a moment, then eased up a bit.
"Just waiting for a friend to finish a game..." I started.
"Um, my name's Julie, and this is Sarah--" Julie began.
"Notice it's not pronounced like the usual 'sayrah', but like sAH-rAH, flat a's, mind you," Jenny emphasized from behind us, still playing, not knowing who we were talking to, but not really caring for that matter.
        "Um, yeah," I mumbled.
"Ooooh, that's cool!" AJ exclaimed. "Well, sAH-rAH" he playfully emphasized as I rolled my eyes, "Who's your friend, the one who was in such an emergency that it caused Kev to give you some quarters, making Nicky here lose his big important game?" he inquired.
"Oh, that's Jenny, the one who must be on a sugar high at the moment," Julie answered for me.
"Am not!" was the quick reply we heard.
"Suuure," I said to her disgust as an exasperated, distracted "ugh!" was heard. We all softly laughed.
"What about you guys? I mean--" I piped up but was interrupted as Howie finally spoke quickly.
"Well, I'm Howie, that's Kevin, there's Nick, Brian, and of course , AJ," he named off everyone.
"Yeah," I said, "and I bet you know that at least Julie and I know who you are..." Howie smiled, embarrassed, he wondered what Jenny thought of him now. "But what are you doing here? Isn't it sorta dangerous?" I asked, noting upon their celebrity status.
"Oh, no," Brian understood the intent of my question, "We have a week off in sunny southern California, and we picked one of the parks' sorta 'off days' to come," he explained, almost all to Julie. "We gave our bodyguards a break. They're running around, doing who knows what in this park, but they're within reach if we need 'em, and they can contact us." He tapped the pager and cell phone in his pockets.
"NOOO!!!!!"/index.html" Jenny screamed, making me and Julie jump. "Quarters!?!??!" she turned, pleading to the seven of us. "Sorry" the boys shrugged as we did. "Fine then, I just died, HAPPY NOW???" she exclaimed as the words 'game over' flashed across the screen.
"Why of course, don't you see? Now we can actually talk to you," AJ chuckled. Jenny frowned and stuck her tongue out at him.
"Very mature , Jenny," I noted, and the tongue was then stuck out at me. I made a face at her; she returned it.
"You guys can stop now," Julie hinted. The guys were trying to keep from laughing.
"Hehe," Nick laughed, "So how old are you MATURE girls?" More silent laughs.
Annoyed, Jenny said, "As of today, I'm 18, Julie's 18, and so is Sarah. But they're gonna be mean as usual and both turn 19 soon! Hmph. Got a problem with that?" she threatened Nick.
"Uh, no" his laughs slowly ceased, smiling now that he knew Julie's age.
Howie's eyes lit up and said "So, um, you're b-day is today Jenny?"
        "Yeah..."
"Hey guys, let's sing her Happy Bir--" but Jenny cut him off .
"Noo, don't you dare  start singing!" and shoved her hands to her ears, saying "I don't hear a thing, I don't hear a thing..."
I glanced at my watch. "Hey, it's 8:53, they're gonna let us in soon," I informed everyone.
"Finally," Jenny muttered turning to walk out of the arcade towards the rope, an indication for us to leave, to we turned too.
"Guess we'll see ya." Julie and I waved at the boys.
"Bye," Brian gently waved to her.
"What?!" Nick exclaimed, "No screams, or tears or--" Kevin cut him off.
"Shut up, Nick. I guess they are not fans. Don't go mental just cuz they didn't."
I heard him and turned for a moment. "Hey, Julie and I are fans, for your information...just letting ya know!" I winked at them and turned to catch up with Jenny and Julie.
"I wonder why Jenny isn't," AJ thought out loud.
"AJ..." Howie started, as Jenny yelled.
"Cuz you are soo full of yourself!"
Howie smiled. "Almost what I was gonna say!" AJ glared at him.

"Hey guys, wait up!" Nick ran off after us. Brian caught on to Nick's idea and followed him.
"Yeah?" Julie turned around and Nick ran smack into her, knocking her over.
"Owch! Dang, watch where you're going Nick!" she yelled at him as he helped her up.
"Oh, sorry!" he exclaimed, notably embarrassed. Brian glared at him because of what he did to Julie.
        "Yeah, whatever," she answered, annoyed.
"So, um, I was, um, well.." Nick rambled on mumbling. Kevin came up.
"I think he's trying to ask if you guys wanna join our group to go around the park," he translated.
"Um, yeah." Nick nodded. By this time, the other two Boys had joined us.
"Um, WHY would we wanna go with YOU?" Jenny asked.
"Hmph, just think, we are GRACING you with our presence, dearie," AJ replied, attempting a serious face. Howie smirked at his reason.
"Yeah, well I wouldn't wanna honor the presence of a selfish, self absorbed, flat-faced, mud playing HOG!" was Jenny's comment to him. Julie glared at her and I sharply nudged her.
"A little harsh there Jenny?" I asked. She shrugged and smiled. Truly defeated, AJ looked at his shoes, trying to make us feel sorry for him. Brian piped up.
"Aww, c'mon, puh-leese? Otherwise we're gonna end up killing each other without any sane girls for a buffer zone!" Brian complained, mainly to Julie. Jenny rolled her eyes apparently not convinced. "Pleeaasseee?" Brian put on his big puppy-dog-face.
"Geeze, you don't hafta go making horrid faces at us!" Jenny exclaimed. "Fine, we'll go!"
Brian smiled, "Ha! It always works!" he winked at Julie, making her blush.
"Mind you, mister," Jenny added pointing an finger at him "It had nothing to do with that contorted face of yours!"
"Ooohh, that hurt!" Brian said clutching his chest, intentionally imitating AJ's scene from earlier on. AJ glared at him as Jenny, Julie, and I giggled.
"Oh, finally a giggle from Julie," Nick commented, she blushed again.
"Ahem, lover birds (indicating Brian and Nick looking at Julie all the time with her blushing), and the rest of you, where are we gonna start? Better decide in the next minute so we can run and get there first" Jenny commented.
"Indiana Jones!!" Howie blurted out, hoping Jenny would agree.
"Haunted Mansion!" Brian and Nick said in unison.
"Matterhorn!" Kevin yelled, looking at me.
"You guys are nuts, Space Mountain!" AJ declared triumphantly, sure he had won.
"Well, what do YOU know?" shot Jenny, not seeming as quiet as Julie and me (we were gazing at the guys). "I say we go to Splash Mountain before the line is too long. And if we get wet, it won't matter at this time of day." Everyone agreed except me, but no one noticed my complaints.
The rope was pushed aside, and Jenny was the first to take off running, forcing us to run to keep up with her...
