SOAP BOX: SIGNIFICANT OTHERS
Okay, this whole girlfriend/wife thing is getting to me. Why should people worry if the Boys have significant others? Is it against the law for them to be happy with someone?
Someone I know on email menitoned something:
The Boys are, for some of us, our fantasy and little dream world. We love their personalities and interviews and they make us laugh, and that's why we buy their albums and think about them and that's why we write fan fics. And so when I heard about the engagements, it was kind of a reality check for me, and for a while I did feel weird and in a little shock. I realize they have lives, but that just wasn't proper boy band behavior. And for some of us, opening up a magazine and seeing them happy and getting married to these beautiful girls, its kind of like whoa. I'm not trying to defend anybody and I don't think it's right for anyone to get mad and trash them; i admire their g/fs cause who knows what kind of stuff they must have to go through. I just... i guess wanted to explain the way some of us might feel... I know there are the fans that are perfectly sane. The fans that may even be obsessed, but don't take that obsession to a dangerous level. There are those wonderful fans who love and support the Boys, EVEN when they know the guys have women in their lives. I hate it that most of the mad fans give the rest of us a bad name.
I hate to break it to u, but if u’r one of the stereotypical girls who thinks that the Boys will fall in love with u as soon as they lock eyes with u and will end up marrying U, u may get easily angry at what I’m saying. It’s fun to think about it, maybe, but to hate the woman that makes him happy just cuz it isn’t u...that’s a different story.
Please...stop calling them bitches, sluts, and whores. Do u even KNOW them? There’s prolly a very high chance that u don’t. And even if u have met them...and somehow they didn’t rub off the right way...can u blame them? I wouldn’t wanna be Mary Sunshine 24/7...and with everyone yelling at me, I’d act like a helluva bitch, too. Btw, do u really expect that one of the Boys will run to u after u finish bashing the one that they luv?I found an interesting quote from Brian:

They didn’t lie about them--they told us about their women. Accept it--they love other women, not u. Enough is enough. Some fans got mad if the Boys don't tell us about their significant others...yet, when they do, people are mad still. What instanity.
Kevin and Brian are married. I for one, couldn’t’ be more happy for them...yet I see all these freakin' NEGATIVE responses? ... "Kevin'll marry me once he gets a divorce"... "I love Brian-but he'd better not stay with HER/I hate HER!" ...::takes a deep breath::....WHY, people, WHY!? Who do those people think they are? The people who wail and cry and are mad that the Boys found their soul mates? How could those crazed fans be like that? The guys are happy, so why can’t their fans be?
Stop taking those lyrics so seriously! Don’t cry: " What ever happened to ‘I’ll Never Break Your Heart?’!" They sing love songs...but not to U! If they did, they’d have thousands of girlfriends, smart one. Please stop hoping that the single Boys will wait for you... They can’t and won’t.
Seriously here...they are HUMAN. Ever thought about that? They sing, and they sing damn well...but that doesn’t mean they don’t have lives...lives that have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with fans...lives that contain the people they love.One of my buddies wanted a say in this:
" They sing and don't owe u notin when u buy their album.
Have they not thanked you enough and now you have to go and insult the people they love?
And to those who say it's the end of the boys cuz they are getting married.

Fans don't do that. And if you aren't... then why waste your time insulting people? And isn't this just the funniest thing.... you teenyboppers say how mean their girlfriends are and yet the people insulting someone they don't even know is... *drum roll* YOU.
So stop it. There are a few things on this beautiful earth that irritate me. That's hyprocrites. Don't insult their girlfriends by saying they're mean when u r the one being mean. And have you been smiley and happy 24/7? Well, don't tell me yes cuz i wouldn't be writing this in the first place if u were. So if you're not, how can you expect others to be?
NO ONE is perfect. I know I'm not and u know you're not, so please don't insult others for not being perfect. And from what i hear anywayz, their girlfriends are d*mn close to it. And even if they aren't, who the hell are you to butt into the boys lives and yell at them about it. They are men, they can handle and do this on their own. This is very dissapointing and upsetting. You guys that do these things are giving all fans a bad name.
So hopefully, this has stopped u from being so closed minded. If not, I tried. There is nothing left for me to do. But hopefully you tried, to not butt into lives that don't concern u whatsoever.
And if it seems like I am the one being a hyprocrite, and thats what u'r thinking instead of processing what I've been saying, then u r totally missing the point, and in denial that u did anything wrong. Therefor u'r even more closed minded then i thought possible.
*sighs* but what can i say? if you want to be mean and insult those u once upon a time u wanted to marry, let u'r life crumble now that they r happy with their ONE.
OR u could be happy for them and live life so that others don't have to write long lectures, venting. And then, it'd be your turn to find YOUR ONE. Even if it ain't a BSB, who cares? He is your soulmate. Destiny. Can u picture u being older and looking back at this and laughing at how pointless and stupid being mad was? Then don't bother being mad at all. Live life to the fullest, not grow wrinkles and growl and curse. "I can’t believe half of the shyt I hear from the "teenyboppers"...being a fan is supposed to be fun. Not a life obsession. Worry about the next album, not the next girl...
